Smoke 'N' Grill



Hello! My wife Tina and I run a restaurant in the Outaouais region in Quebec, Canada. We believe in providing good food to good people in idyllic surroundings. Follow us as I blog about our food and our life running a restaurant in rural Quebec!
I figured i would finish off the day and the week with a bang. I had an 8oz filet mignon wrapped in double-smoked bacon plated with fried mushrooms, garlic mashed potatoes, mashed yams, and fried bok choy(my special touch). I complimented it with a glass of red to finish off cheat day. My arteries are aching but my stomach is happy! Cheat day is great!

More food porn for you guys. This is simply the most luxurious breakfast one can have: eggs benedict and homefries and plated with fresh fruits. Wow I won’t be able to eat again until late dinner.

I’m originally from Vancouver and we have unique seafood there. Halibut, sockeye salmon, dungeness crab, sablefish, and geoduck are seafoods that can only be found on the Pacific Northwest. Not only are all of these seafoods unique but they are also delicious. So at my restaurant I’ve brought a little B.C. with me and pictured above is the halibut for dinner tonight. For those of you more curious about halibut try it sometime in fish and chips. It’s a taste you will never forget!

On weekends we serve breakfast at the Smoke ‘N’ Grill. We have specialties on the menu like home fries and my wife’s fantastic honey ham which she does at home herself. Anyways the staff has bacon and eggs on hand during weekends so guess what my nephew orders for lunch? Yup, two strips of smoked bacon and a fried egg on his burger. Tells me that’s how they eat it in Australia even though he’s never been to Australia. Got to admit the kid was right, this was a tasty burger.

I went to Montreal last week with my nephew and stopped by Schwartz’s smoked meat sandwich. Boy this is good. Really good. So now you guys know that I don’t just love my own good food but that I love all good food. This is going to be a regular thing on trips to Montreal for me from now on. What a sandwich.

Hi! This is my first blog! My wife, Tina, and I will take turns blogging about our food at the restaurant and food in general. I’ve chosen a very special dish for my first post — spaghetti and meatballs. This is a dish I perfected in my kitchen for Tina and I when we couldn’t find anywhere that made meatballs to our taste. Now I’m not comfortable giving away my recipes just yet but if you come in and have a bite and chat me up I might slip up and give you a hint or two! Pardon me if I sound over-passionate about food but you will read this type of writing a lot if you follow my blog. I’m excited about hearing any comments soon!
